Suspect Arrested After Body Found in Apartment

MANSFIELD, Mass. — A Mansfield woman has been arrested and charged with the murder of her Boston police officer boyfriend, whose body was found in their apartment on Tuesday.

Karen Read, 45, was taken into custody after police responded to a 911 call from her residence at around 10:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, 46-year-old John O'Keefe, deceased in the bedroom. Authorities have not yet released the cause of death.

Read is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday to face charges of murder and assault and battery. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
